Plane Frame

Made for friends whose house lies in the approach path to MSP—so they always know exactly who's flying overhead.

This device uses an ADS-B radio connected to a Raspberry Pi Zero to identify the closest in-range commercial aircraft. It queries adsb.lol to retrieve airline data and renders the information onto a Pimoroni Inky Impression 7.3" color e-ink display.

The frame was 3D-printed custom for this application.

It's still a work in progress as we wait for Pimorini to produce a screen that can update in under 30 seconds.
